Nats in Trouble Already
NATS RECORD: 0-2 --- NL EAST RECORD: 0-2 --- RFK STADIUM RECORD: 0-2
Well, many of us knew it was going to be a looooooooooong season. So far, we were right. The Nats stand at 0-2, being outscored 16-5 in the first two games. Things are bad so far, real bad ...
The Nats have given up a total of 25 hits in two games, 12 and 13 respectively. But look at how the Nats start games off. In the season opener, Nats give up 3 runs in the first two innings. Yesterday the Nats got hammered for 5 runs in the first two innings. And the worst part, the starters were the Nats number 1 and 2 starters. Not a good sign.
John Patterson pitcher 3 innings and gave up 6 runs.
Shawn Hill ptiched 5 innings and gave up 4 runs.
The Nationals starting pitching was considered the worst in MLB but most analysts and experts. Are we proving them right already in just two games? But even worse off, the Nats are making simple mental errors that are leading to bad defense, the last thing this franchise needs.
Today the Nats face the Marlins in the series ender, hoping to avoid a season opening three game sweep. Matt Chico takes the mound for the Nats, hoping not to follow Patertrson and Hill's lead, and on the mound for the Marlins will be Anibal Sanchez.
Zimmy watch...

Ryan Zimmerman was 1-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. On the season, Zimmy is 3-8 with a triple and 1 RBI.
Injury front already? Yup. And you could have guessed. I was wrong. I really though Christian Guzman was ready to play a real role for the Nats, and he is, right where he has been, on the DL. Guzman pulled his hammy and will be on the DL for 2 to 3 weeks. So much for Guzman. Nats called up SS D'Angelo Jiminez. CF Nook Logan was already placed on the DL, leading to the call up of OF Kory Casto.
